Evo Squad 3D
Turning a fake mobile game ad into a real game
A series in which I actually build, in Unity, one of those games shown in mobile ads that turn out not to exist once downloaded. Five episodes were released on Instagram and YouTube between February and April 2026, each adding a new piece to the game: a squad that runs across a bridge and spreads out as it grows, gates that grow or shrink the squad, exploding barrels, and normal, elite and boss monsters. The weapon, main character and monster models were made with Meshy AI.

What's in the game
Controls and formation
Swerve controls that follow the finger smoothly. A formation that widens on its own as the squad grows; as in the ads, hundreds of characters run at once.
Shooting
A shooting and bullet system that stays smooth even with a huge squad.
Gates and barrels
Plus, minus and multiply gates that grow or shrink the squad. Barrels explode when shot and drop rewards; for now, only money.
Monsters and levels
Many monster types, each with normal, elite and boss versions. A level system and a second map.
Weapons
Weapon models and icons made with Meshy AI and optimized so the scene runs smoothly. A weapon shop panel with damage types and levels.
Character and monster models
The main character and the monster were modeled, textured and rigged with Meshy AI, then brought into Unity with running, shooting and attack animations.
