Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser; your files never leave your device.

Which format should I choose?

For the web, WebP usually gives the same picture in a smaller file. Use PNG or WebP if you need transparency, and JPG if the file must open everywhere.

What happens to a transparent background?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas become white. PNG and WebP keep transparency.

Does the image size change?

No, the pixel dimensions stay the same. To change them, use the Image Resizer.
