Evo Squad

Squad-building battle game · in development

A real, deeper version of the gate-and-army games so often seen in mobile ads. The squad is steered left and right with a finger and fires on its own; gates change its size, barrels drop boosts and rewards, and a chapter boss or a rival army waits at the end of the road. Cards from chests level up soldier types until they evolve, which is where the name comes from. The first version was built in the series "Turning a fake mobile game ad into a real game", released on Instagram and YouTube between February and April 2026. The gameplay is now complete; the art is being refreshed and the store release is being prepared. I share the development on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

What's in the game

  1. Gates and crowds

Plus, minus, multiply and divide gates change the squad's size instantly. Past 40 soldiers, groups of ten merge into a golden elite soldier, so the screen stays crowded while the game runs smoothly.

  2. Campaign and bosses

A campaign made of levels, with a boss that has its own attack patterns at the end of every fifth level. Broken barrels drop boosts, gold and a better weapon.

  3. Weapons

Five weapon tiers, from pistol to railgun. Barrels move the squad up a tier during a run; in the Armory, weapons and the squad get permanently stronger.

  4. Squad and evolution

Cards from chests collect and level up six soldier types. A soldier type that reaches the top level evolves: its look changes and its ability gets stronger.

  5. Arena

At the end of a short run, the squad clashes with a rival army's defense: towers, a commander and a flag. Trophies open new arenas and leagues.

  6. Quests and rewards

Daily rewards, quests, achievements, a season pass, a lucky wheel, leaderboards and an endless mode. The game is in 7 languages.
